2nd Half Of The Season

This past Saturday we took a tough and unexpected loss against Muskingum University. This was a game we were very confident we could come in and get a win to bounce back after a tough loss against Marietta. Muskingum is a team we haven't lost to in a few years. They would start the game off strong and jump to a 14-0 lead. After this, it felt that we were fighting from behind for the rest of the game and we lost 42-30. Muskingum came to play and they were the better team on Saturday.

Looking ahead we are halfway through the year and have the toughest part of our schedule ahead. We started off the year strong and are starting to dip down a bit. With the toughest part yet to come this is where we find out what team we want to be. Do we want to pick it up and finish strong or start to give up after a couple losses.

Saturday we have the opportunity to go 4-2 or fall to 3-3. We play Capital which is a team that has struggled the past few years and is currently 0-5. Even though they are a team that is struggling we can not underestimate them. They are a team that is hungry for their first win. This is a game that we need to win going into a tough game after this in Mount Union.

Mount Union is currently ranked #3 in the nation and is off to a strong 5-0 start. This is a game that we need to prepare well for and a team that we can beat if we execute at our highest level. We can not go into the game and start off slow. In the game last year at the half we were only down 0-7 against them. We look to build off of that close game last year execute at a high level and make a statement win for the university.

These next two games will be important for us in proving what kind of team we want to be. Do we want to be a middle-of-the-pack team in the OAC or do we want to be one of the contenders for the OAC Championship?
