Senior Year!

As we start our first week of classes, it brings a lot of excitement and emotions. I am now a senior here at Ohio Northern, and looking back, it has gone a lot faster than I could've expected. From being a freshman who had no idea what he was getting himself into, to now being a senior trying to enjoy every last moment of my last year. Just four years ago, I didn't know how much I would come to love this university and the memories that I would make from it. Ohio Northern has brought me lots of friends and good times that will last a lifetime.

If I were asked to give an underclassman advice, I would tell them to enjoy every moment and try new things. As a member of the football team, I feel that being involved in it has helped me meet many different people and experience amazing memories with them. Whether it is a sport or a club, make sure to get involved in something where you can meet new people. I would also say to try new things. Don't be afraid to get out of your comfort zone and try something new; you never know what could come out of it. Another thing would be to say no less! What I mean by this is even if you're tired or not feeling up to something and want to say no, just go along with it. At times, I look back on when I decided to say no or not do anything and end up regretting it. The times you may think something sounds boring may end up being some of the best memories, and I have also experienced that.

I know that I would choose coming to this Ohio Northern 10x over and do not even the slightest regret my decision. It feels that it was meant to be, and the people I have met here have forever made an impact on my life. If you are feeling a little worried about this whole college thing as an underclassman, just keep going and know it will get better as long as you give it your all.

  1. I also have mixed emotions about already being a senior and I agree time goes so fast these last few years.

  3. I can 100% relate to having mixed emotions. I'm super excited to apply the knowledge I've learned at ONU in a professional workspace, but I'll definitely miss being a college kid!

  4. Great advice Gage. I'm right there feeling like everything went by so fast, it's like just yesterday we were freshmen.
