Chapter 3: Social Media Marketing Strategy and Social Media Advertising

    With the way that technology is rapidly changing businesses are constantly finding new ways to stay ahead of the curve with new and innovative marketing strategies. Social media is an important tool that allows businesses to provide content to their target audience. 
    
    A great example of a business using an innovative marketing strategy is Chipotle. Chipotle was one of the first bigger brands to take a chance with marketing on TikTok. Its #ChipotleLidFlip has generated over 240 million views and its second #GuacDance was able to generate 430 million video views. Chipotle creating fun content on TikTok has allowed them to reach their younger consumers which would lead to a 14% revenue growth. 

    Another brand that does well with innovative marketing strategies is Nike. In recent years they have been able to tap into the mood of the public while inspiring people through the power of sport. Their 'Play for the World' campaign was put out on Nike's social media channels. The campaign stressed the importance of social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic while using influencers to help reinforce their statements. They also can create conversations around big sporting events. Their social media content and sponsoring 14 out of the 24 teams in the tournament, they ensured that they were at the forefront of the conversation. 

    With the way social media continues to grow, these brands must stay up to date and be a part of the new strategies of social media. Brands that tend to lack in this are typically not as successful as the ones that are. The brands that stay up to date and in the feeds of the people will reap the benefits of social media marketing.
