The Home Stretch

     With Thanksgiving break being over, we are now on the final home stretch. We have just a few weeks until we finish our semester and get to go back home for another break. Thanksgiving break is always a good week off school to get home and reset. Even though it is always a good week, it always flies by. I was able to enjoy a fun and relaxing break. It was nice to be able to spend the week with friends and family and get a break from schoolwork.

    Now that we are in the first week back from break it is time to focus back in and try and finish off the year strong. Looking at my schedule for the next few weeks before finals it looks to be not as stressful as some of my past semesters. It looks to be a pretty light next few weeks as many assignments have already been completed and I just have finals left to worry about. In some of my past semesters, I have had many big assignments that I felt that I needed to cram in these last few weeks which would always make the end of the semester stressful. I was able to get ahead to ensure that I would not have to cram at the end which led to a lot smoother end to the semester. 

    Looking back on this semester I would say that it was a successful one. It definitely has had its ups and downs but I feel that It went pretty well and I will say I was able to enjoy most of my classes. I am definitely excited that I chose to minor in social media and this class was a great introduction to the minor. I was able to learn a lot and it was a class that I was able to stay engaged in and enjoy. This was also one of my easiest semesters which was relieving after having some tough classes the past few semesters. I am looking forward to my new classes next semester and hope that everyone can finish out this semester strong and enjoy their break!

    Hi Gage, my name is Cade Crawford I just finished my time on the football team here at Ohio Northern. I also took this class some time ago, I was reading through your blog and just wanted to say what tremendous work you have done this semester. I am glad you had an easier semester, I definitely know the feeling of having a challenging semester. I am glad you added a minor in social media it is a very interesting topic, and very prevalent in society today.

Bye Week

     Going into last Saturday's matchup against Heidelberg, we knew how much this game meant not only because it was Senior Day, but because we were coming off a tough loss the week before. The feeling all week in practice was that we had something to prove. We wanted to show everyone what Ohio Northern football really is.      From the first snap, there was a different energy on the field. Our defense was able to set the tone early, flying around and making big stops, and the offense fed off that momentum. We executed the game plan the way we knew we could, hitting some big plays and running the ball well. Every drive felt like we were building toward something bigger, and when we were able to take a 19-7 lead going into halftime, we felt pretty confident that we could continue that going into the second half.       What stood out most was how complete a team effort it was. Week 5

     Last Saturday’s game at Wilmington was a reminder of what we already knew about playing in the OAC: there are no easy wins. We came away with the victory, but it was a much tighter game than we expected, 41-35. Credit to Wilmington; they played with a lot of fight and pushed us for the four full quarters. Even though we weren’t as sharp as we wanted to be in certain areas, we stayed together as a team, made plays when needed, and found a way to finish strong.      Games like that are humbling in the best way. They show us that no matter who the opponent is, we can’t take anything for granted. We have to bring our best every single week.
