Week 2
This past weekend was a tough one for us. We entered our matchup against Franklin University confident and prepared, but the game didn’t go as we expected. Franklin came ready to play, and while we fought hard until the final whistle, the result wasn’t what we wanted. This loss was tough because this is one that we won big last year and did not go our way this year.
It’s never easy to walk off the field knowing you came up short. You replay moments in your head, missed opportunities, little mistakes that we made, which could have turned the game our way. But football is a game of learning and responding. One loss doesn’t define a season, and it certainly doesn’t define who we are as a team.
Now, the focus shifts. We’ve got Heidelberg coming to Ada this Saturday, and it’s not just another game; they are our rivals, and it’s our senior day. This rival is always a big one, and with it also being senior day, it is a big deal for us as a team.
This week in practice, the energy has been different. There’s urgency, but also determination. We’re using the Franklin game as fuel to tighten up our mistakes from last week and add fuel to the fire as we go into a game against our rivals, who are looking to make up for their loss against us last year.
We know what we’re capable of as a team, and we look to go out and put it all together on Saturday.
Go Bears.
Hope that the team morale can carry you to victory in the future. Very excited for the Heidelberg match-up, I have a personal rivalry with one of my friends there. You guys have my support all the way!
